Spot on Hayley! Technology such as computers shouldn't be used just to fill in time or just because we have to. They should be integrated with other learning activities to benefit students.

Hayley you make some really interesting points here! Technology is limitless. Schools should be spending money to ensure their students are receiving the latest, up to date information. I believe spending money on technology is the way to do this. Resources such as text books are being outdated by the minute!

thanks Hayley, I'm glad my blog helped. I completely agree with you about technology being more than a free time activity.

I was lucky enough to be able to use a smart board while on prac this semester. I found that the kids all responded well to the use of the smart board, especially when they were able to use it themselves. I hope you get to use one soon! While they're a fabulous tool for teaching and learning. I recommend having a bit of a play with one if possible, even if it is not used to teach the class directly.

Hi Hayley,

I am pleased to see that you have visited your blog more frequently and have managed to make some recent contributions.

It's good to see you considering the potential of ICT in the learning process. This is one of the challenges for us as educators I think - I always say, never do online that which is better done offline. How do we determine the quality of things such as blogs and /or blogging/wikis/ podcasts , for example?

Have you come to any conclusions about the use of blogs as opposed to wikis?

Anyway, great to see you reading around these topics and pleased that you have made some additional postings although you should be contributing more frequently!!

Best wishes

Glynis
